Terms of Service

Last updated October 15, 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service (the Terms) govern your use of BellRun, the website at bellrun.com and everything on it (the Service). The Service is operated by theother9to5 Inc. (we, us or our). Please read these Terms carefully. Our Privacy Policy, at bellrun.com/legal/privacy, explains how we handle your information and forms part of these Terms.

Acceptance of These Terms

By visiting or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it, and these Terms then apply to that organisation as well as to you.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is older, to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that nothing prevents you from using it under the laws that apply to you.

The Game

BellRun is a game. In each rodeo, an AI character called the chute boss makes intraday stock trading decisions within the game, and you can watch, follow along and argue your case to the chute boss through the Rodeo Secretary, an AI chat character in the Office.

Rodeo Money

Rodeos are played with rodeo money: a pretend purse that starts at $500 and exists only within the game. Rodeo money has no cash value. It cannot be deposited, withdrawn, transferred, sold or exchanged for anything, and it is not property of any kind.

Your own money is never involved in the Service. You never connect an account at any company, and nothing you do in the Service places a trade with your money. Gains and losses shown in a rodeo are game results only.

Accounts and Sign-In

You sign in to the Service with your Google account. When you do, we receive and keep your email address, along with your rodeo's name and whether your rodeo is public or private, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Rodeo Names and Visibility

Names

A rodeo name must be 7 to 20 characters long and may contain only letters, numbers and dashes. Some names are reserved and cannot be chosen. We may refuse, change or reclaim any name that we reasonably consider offensive, misleading, an impersonation of someone else, or an infringement of anyone's rights.

Public and Private Rodeos

A public rodeo can be viewed by anyone and may be listed on the leaderboard together with its results. A private rodeo is visible only to you. You can change your rodeo's visibility at any time, but information that was public may already have been seen or recorded by others.

Your Advice and the Chute Boss

You may give advice, cases and requests to the Rodeo Secretary. In your own rodeo, what you settle with the Rodeo Secretary may be passed to your chute boss, who decides what to do with it and may decline it in whole or in part. In the demo rodeo, your advice may be weighed and answered, but it does not change how the demo rodeo trades. We do not promise that any advice you give will be followed or will produce any particular result.

AI-Generated Content

The Rodeo Secretary's replies, the chute boss's decisions and explanations, and other text in the Service are generated by artificial intelligence. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent or unexpected. It is provided for entertainment only, and you should not rely on it for any purpose outside the game.

No Financial Advice

Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, legal, tax or any other professional advice. Nothing in the Service is a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security or other asset, or to follow any trading strategy. Results in the game, past or present, say nothing about how any strategy would perform in real markets. Before making any real financial decision, consult a qualified professional.

Market Data

Prices, quotes and other market data shown in the Service come from third parties. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and we do not guarantee their accuracy, timeliness or availability. Rodeo results depend on that data and may be affected by its errors.

Notifications

The Service may offer optional notifications on your devices, for example when the chute boss's verdict is ready. Notifications are off unless you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time in the Service or in your device or browser settings.

Your Content

What You Provide

Your content means anything you type or submit to the Service, including messages to the Rodeo Secretary, advice, cases, requests and your rodeo's name. You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to submit it.

Licence You Give Us

You keep any ownership rights you have in your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, copy, process, adapt and display your content to operate, provide, maintain and improve the Service. This includes passing it to the AI services that generate replies and decisions, showing your rodeo's name and results where your rodeo is public, and keeping records as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence lasts for as long as we hold your content.

Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its name, characters, artwork, text, design and software, belongs to theother9to5 Inc. or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as these Terms allow or with our written permission.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to do any of the following:

Changes to the Service

We may change, add or remove features, pause or end the Service, or reset, pause or remove any rodeo, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. A rodeo may pause on its own when its owner has been away from the Service for some time. We are not liable to you for any change, pause or ending of the Service or of any rodeo.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also ask us to delete your data, as described in our Privacy Policy, by writing to bellrun@theother9to5.com.

We may suspend or end your access to the Service, and remove your rodeo or content, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including those on content licences, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, will survive.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Service, its data or its AI-generated content will be accurate, reliable, secure or available at any particular time.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, theother9to5 Inc. and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, however caused and even if we were told such damages were possible. This includes any loss arising from decisions you make outside the game based on anything in the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless theother9to5 Inc. and its officers, employees and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your content or your breach of these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms at bellrun.com/legal/terms and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. By continuing to use the Service after updated Terms take effect, you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and we agree that any such dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at bellrun@theother9to5.com and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
