Privacy Policy
Last updated October 18, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information BellRun collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. BellRun is the website at bellrun.com and everything on it (the Service). It is operated by theother9to5 Inc. (we, us or our), a United States company based in Massachusetts. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service at bellrun.com/legal/terms.
Who Can Use BellRun
The Service is for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us at bellrun@theother9to5.com and we will delete it.
Information We Collect
If You Are Not Signed In
We keep no account for visitors who are not signed in. Your conversation with the Rodeo Secretary in the Office is stored in your own browser. When you send a message, it is processed on our servers and by an AI service in order to write the Rodeo Secretary's reply.
If You Sign In
Signing in is with Google. From Google we receive and keep your email address only; we do not receive or keep your name or photo. While you have an account, we keep:
- your email address;
- your rodeo's name, if you choose one;
- whether your rodeo is public or private;
- when your account was created and when it was last seen;
- your rodeo's game records, including its rides, its results and the strategies you set.
If Sign-In Is Full
If you try to sign in while all places are taken and your sign-in is declined, we keep the email address you used so that we can let you in later. Earlier, visitors could also leave an email address with the Rodeo Secretary to join a waiting list. We keep those addresses for the same purpose.
Office Conversations
Your conversation itself is stored in your browser, not on our servers. To run the Office, our servers keep the following:
- a reply from the Rodeo Secretary, until your page has collected it, for at most 30 days;
- the strategy you set for your own rodeo, until you replace or withdraw it or the chute boss declines it;
- requests waiting for the chute boss's answer in the demo, for up to 6 days;
- how often a chat has sent messages, so that we can keep a fair pace, for 2 days.
Your browser's time zone is sent with each message so that the Rodeo Secretary knows your local time. We do not store it.
Feedback
When you tell the Rodeo Secretary something about BellRun itself, such as a complaint, a suggestion, praise or a problem, we keep a short summary of it, what you said in your own words, when you said it, the chat session it came from and, if you are signed in, your rodeo's name. We keep it so we can read it and improve BellRun. We keep it until you ask us to remove it, and we do not share it or use it for advertising.
Notifications
Notifications are optional. If you turn them on, we keep:
- a notification token for your device;
- a short description of the device, such as Android phone, Chrome;
- your notification choices;
- the chat session the device belongs to.
We keep records of which notifications were sent for 2 days.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use only the cookies the site needs to work:
- a sign-in session cookie, which lasts 30 days;
- a chat session cookie, which lasts 30 days;
- a short-lived cookie used while you sign in with Google.
We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, which is why we do not show a cookie banner. Your browser's local storage holds your Office conversation and your notification choices. Signing out clears what BellRun keeps in that browser.
Server Logs
Our server logs record your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We keep them for about 30 days, for security and to keep the Service running. We count page visits from these logs. We do not use third-party analytics.
What We Do Not Collect
We collect no payment information, because nothing in the Service is billed.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to:
- provide the Service, including your account, your rodeo and the Office;
- write the Rodeo Secretary's replies and take your strategies and requests to the chute boss;
- read the feedback you give about BellRun, so we can improve the Service;
- show public rodeos and their results, including on the leaderboard;
- let you in when a place opens, if your sign-in was declined or you joined the waiting list;
- send the notifications you have turned on;
- keep the Service secure, fair and running, and understand how much it is visited;
- meet our legal obligations.
We process your information to provide the Service you ask for. We also process it because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and working, and, for notifications, because you have given your consent.
Public Rodeos
If you make your rodeo public, anyone can see it, and its name and results appear on the leaderboard. A private rodeo is visible only to you. You can change your rodeo's visibility at any time. Information that was public may already have been seen by others.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising. We run no ads. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
Service providers process information on our behalf, only to run the Service and only under our instructions. They provide:
- hosting and storage;
- sign-in with Google;
- delivery of notifications;
- the AI service that writes the Rodeo Secretary's replies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How Long We Keep Information
- Account information and your rodeo's game records: for as long as your account and rodeo exist.
- Email addresses kept after a declined sign-in or from the waiting list: until we let you in, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Rodeo Secretary replies waiting to be collected: at most 30 days.
- Strategies set for your own rodeo: until you replace or withdraw them, or the chute boss declines them.
- Feedback you give about BellRun: until you ask us to remove it.
- Requests waiting for the chute boss's answer: up to 6 days.
- Message pace records and notification send records: 2 days.
- Server logs: about 30 days.
- Notification tokens, device descriptions and notification choices: until you turn notifications off.
- Your Office conversation: in your browser, until you clear it or sign out.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive your information in a portable form;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, such as for notifications.
To make a request, write to bellrun@theother9to5.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. Deleting your account removes your email address and your rodeo. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. You can also turn notifications off and sign out at any time.
Security
Information sent to and from the Service travels over HTTPS. Information we store is held with our hosting provider, which encrypts it at rest. Access is limited to the people who run the Service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Where Information Is Stored
We store information in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored and processed there.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top and post the updated policy at bellrun.com/legal/privacy.
